Hello! I’m Hannah, the face of Mindfully Hannah.

I’m 30 years old, about to get married (eek!) and live in London with my Dutch fiancé and our guinea pig, Bailey. I’m an avid knitter, die-hard Harry Potter lover, F1 fan and love to read, travel, take long walks in nature and do a bit of birdwatching too (albeit it on a very amateur level!).

I’m a qualified Doctor who spent five years working in the NHS, the latter part of that specialising in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (women’s health and pregnancy). I have always felt passionate about working to help women through our varying stages of life, and I feel there is so much more that can be done outside the roles of conventional NHS healthcare.

In early 2024, through a multitude of different factors, I reached a point of total burnout, resulting in feelings of extreme anxiety, low mood, and hopelessness about where my future lay. I took a leave of absence from my job, and thanks to an incredible CBT therapist, I realised that the work of a traditional medical Doctor was not what I truly wanted, and many of the feelings I’d been having were simply because I was living a life in total misalignment with my values. A lot of grappling with self-doubt, fear of judgement and shame, and worries about my future followed, finally resulting in me seeking out career coaching to help put some form into my swirling thoughts about what I should do next.

And just like that, Mindfully Hannah was created! The idea started as a vague concept: some sort of space (physical or virtual) in which women struggling with their mental health during particular phases of life or through periods of physical illness, could find resources to help. I feel I have such a unique set of skills to offer women: the knowledge that my professional experience means I’ve seen and managed situations they may be going through, and I understand the NHS system in which they receive their care, but also the personal experience of struggling with my own mental health and navigating my way through that, and being a woman myself.

Since early 2024, one of the tools which has really helped me feel better in myself mentally and emotionally, is meditation. I began to meditate daily and tried to incorporate mindfulness into my everyday life as a way of managing my stress, anxiety and low mood. Those were by no means the only benefits I’ve felt, however: my sleep improved, my motivation and concentration improved, my relationships became deeper, and I feel much more connected to myself and my body. I make healthier choices, feel more connected to the world and have a sense of inner calm and comfort I didn’t have before. Reading it on paper makes it sound too good to be true, right?! I realised I wanted to share this skill that I’ve developed (and continue to develop) with as many other women as possible, leading me to qualify as a Meditation Teacher with the British School of Meditation.

Throughout the training course, I have been researching and developing a wealth of ideas to bring meditation and mindfulness to women in a structured, educational way, aiming to improve wellbeing and general resilience to all the stresses that life inevitably brings. I’m so excited to be writing courses and classes which will be available for a variety of different situations; to bring my passion and experience together and hopefully equip you with skills to be taken into everyday life and bring you the same sort of benefits that I have seen in my own life.

On this website you can find out more about what meditation and mindfulness mean, how you can do it, the courses/classes I offer and hopefully many more answers to questions you might have! You can follow me on Instagram where I also post little snippets of information about meditation, mindfulness and mental health in general. Alternatively, you can get in touch with me directly via this website, by email or by DM on Instagram.

There are exciting things coming, so watch this space!
